At an international level, ACM is widely recognized as the premier membership organization for computing professionals, delivering resources that advance computing as a science and a profession; enable professional development; and promote policies and research that benefit society.

At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, our goal is to give those who wish to learn more about programming beyond normal computer science courses the tools they need.  We also want to open the world of programming to beginners who may not even be majoring in computer science or computer engineering.  ACM partners with Hive, another student organization, to host workshops and teach subject matter that is usually not covered by most of the computer science courses offered.  HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript and other web development tools have been taught in previous workshops as well as mobile app development and more.
